A source close to the rap trio Migos confirmed to CNN that Takeoff,

one-third of the platinum-selling group, was shot and died early on Tuesday in Houston, Texas.

He was 28.  Around 2:30 a.m. local time, according to Houston police,

they were called to the scene of a gunshot at a bowling and pool club in downtown Houston.

One person was discovered dead, the department tweeted.

According to officials, two further patients were driven to hospitals in private automobiles.

Police were told that a private party had been held at the location just before the incident

according to the authorities. A probe is still being conducted.

Takeoff started performing as part of the group Migos alongside his uncle, fellow rapper Quavo, and Offset in their hometown of Lawrenceville, Georgia.
