In Phoenix The first half of Wednesday night's season-opening game brought back

terrible memories of the Phoenix Suns' humiliating playoff elimination from the previous spring.

The Dallas Mavericks and Luka Doncic were dominating the Suns at home once more.

That made the Suns' comeback to win 107-105 at the Footprint Center after falling behind by 22 points all the sweeter.

The Suns' propensity to close out games—defined as games where the score was within five points in the final

five minutes—helped them win the top overall seed last season.

They were an NBA-best 33-9 in these types of games.

In that regard, Phoenix gave a performance that was rather typical of him.

Suns coach Monty Williams stated, "I think it's amazing any time you win in the NBA.

But while defeating the team that eliminated you doesn't take away the anguish, it does help you advance.
