Lewis, an 87-year-old rock and country legend, is reportedly still alive and well in Memphis.

Despite earlier today's reports to the contrary, rock icon Jerry Lee Lewis is still alive, according to Entertainment Weekly.

A spokesman for Lewis, who is currently (still) 87 years old, released a statement today

denying an earlier TMZ report that claimed he had passed away today.

The report has prompted an apology from TMZ.

Lewis experienced a stroke back in 2019, but he seemed confident enough in his recovery a year later to announce the release of a gospel album.

He was inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame earlier this year

but he reportedly chose not to attend the induction ceremony on the advice of his physicians.

Additionally, Ethan Coen's documentary Trouble In Mind, which was released earlier this year, featured him as its subject.
